For the second weekend they were glued to the new desk :?
Starting Sept 3 Sara Haines will probably be at the desk for a minute :shock:

Totally agree, Cobra, what's up with that?? No legs=no watching as far as I'm concerned. I hope this is merely a temporary move by the show, though I can hardly see why they've gone to it. Is there some kind of worker's strike in NYC I haven't heard about?

I saw that new girl Sara Haines on GMA yesterday. Didn't even hear her speak with the other cast of characters around. With Amy, Josh, Sam and Bianna hogging all the mic time, she basically just stood there.

The only good thing about that desk is that whenever they want to go to the weatherperson they usually do a shot where they show all four people at the desk, but the camera is shooting from whoever is seated to the far right, which is just a cheap excuse to show Lara Spencer's (or Sara Haines) profile, and focused on the weather board to the far left. That way you're not having to focus on that ginormous GOOD MORNING AMERICA logo with those neon bars on the front of the desk. If they would just go to a desk without that enormous logo it would make the visual experience better to take for everybody.

Hmm ... It looks as if it's some kind of insert that the desk was designed to accept all along.
See the blue channel that it's attached to? That's always there.
Probably made of the same plexiglass or whatever the desk is made of.

Which would mean it's purpose is to come and go at the producer's discretion -- say if a skirt is
too short, or maybe even put there if one of the ladies themselves requests it.
"Bad leg or bad shoe day"???
"wearing a bandage or a cast" ??
So they say -- okay, let's put the wing on for today.

Just guessing.

Sounds reasonable, but then Erica Hill and Dylan Dreyer both had visible wounds over the summer and no boards were set up for them to hide behind. I don't remember ever seeing pieces added to desks or tables seemingly just to block the view. :?
