Lauren's actually been on there a few times already as a guest. Here's one clip from September, maybe giving us an idea of what to expect: http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-ti ... 14721.html Of course there's no way around it -- there are some SERIOUS problems for Lauren's fans with this scenario. A: She's going to be a "co-host" with one or both of these guys. and B: The gargantuan, non-transparent desk. around some, or do some sit-out style interviews.) RT's now lost both her and Alyona in the space of several months. It's nice for the ladies of course, that they're coming up in the business and advancing their careers, but they DID have their own programs, and pretty gutsy ones at that. Kind of tough to see how blending into the wallpaper at HuffPost and Yahoo is a step up, but it does put them closer to media centers like L.A. (Alyona), and NYC (Lauren). Maybe the big leagues aren't far off (?) But it would be pretty sad if their most effective work is now behind them. . |

They canceled it? I'm all for putting the Cold War behind us but this was low. And Lauren Lyster is not just a pretty face and a hot body....she knows what she's talking about (I know this because I don't know what the heck she's talking about half the time). |

FishOil wrote: They canceled it? Well, both Lauren & Demitri have Twittered that it was not cancelled. And when you think about it, how likely is it that Lauren would be lucky enough to have a new job to jump into first thing next week if that were the case? No, as I piece it together, both she & Demitri have been testing some waters outside of RT for some time now. Lauren doing the guest spots with Yahoo (see my post above), so they liked her and made an offer. Plus, they took the whole show to NYC not too long back, and probably shopped themselves around some while they were there. Looks a lot like this was mostly their doing, and if RT doesn't continue a show called "Capital Account", there may be a good reason if she and/or Demitri had some ownership stake in it. RT's up and coming as a network, but it's still not a major platform by any stretch. They probably realized that there's a lot of greener pastures out there, and decided to fold it up. . |

OK, thanks for the clarification. This make the whole thing more puzzling to me. I always thought of RT as a better version of Current TV (better production). And I figured that Lauren would eventually get a shot with one of the big 3 financial networks.....what I don't understand is how yahoo's webcast is a step up from the gig she had. I'm sure there's sound logic to it (perhaps RT didn't pay well) but usually people work at HuffPost or some other website with the aspiration of getting on TV. Well, I hope it all works out.....maybe CNN will surprise us and have the Lapin And Lyster Show (no desk). |

Thanks for the update From the video and Demitri's post, it gave the appearance that the show had been cancelled. |
