ESPN anchor Hannah Storm will return to the air on New Year's Day, exactly three weeks after she was seriously burned in a propane gas grill accident at her home. Storm suffered second-degree burns on her chest and hands, and first-degree burns to her face and neck. She lost her eyebrows and eyelashes, and roughly half her hair. Storm will host ABC's telecast of the 2013 Rose Parade on Tuesday. Wow, didn't know about that happening. Sounds like it was pretty serious, glad it wasn't worse. I grill quite often in the summer, those things can be dangerous especially if you don't occasionally inspect the valve connections on the tank which can have corrosion or leaks. |

I did not about this either. Dam like you just stated she is lucky it was not worse and dam lucky to be alive. Hopefully the burns heal. Hair and eye brows will grow back. Your life can't. Wishing her all the best for a speedy recovery. |

I didn't see this post so I did not know until this morning when I tuned in to see Hannah doing the parade. The whole ordeal sounds frightening. I like Hannah a lot so I hope she recovers as best as possible. Here's one more cap from today showing her hand. And she is left-handed so that sucks.

Damn, what a horrible thing to go through.  I wish her a speedy and full recovery, and I admire her for going back on the air for something that surely could've taken much longer to prep for. |

There is a yahoo sports video of an ABC interview with Hannah describing her ordeal. I'm not going to post it because the images are just too grotesque. It was much worse than I imagined. The pictures are hard to look at. I wish I hadn't. |
