Yep, you read the title right...
The Weather Channel has decided that winter storms should have names, just like hurricanes and
tropical storms do.

TWC isn't the National Weather Service. And they don't seem to be concerned that not everyone is going to
adopt their new naming system....which makes it useless for the usual NWS and local channel alerts that will go out
not mentioning the names at all. So you'll hear TWC say "prepare for Orko tomorrow", while TV and radio in your area
(using the NWS updates) will say "major snowfall expected tomorrow".
There's clearly going to be people confused, wondering if everybody's talking about the same storm, or the
same regions.
Would love to know who got paid - and how much--to come up with this.
"ROCKY"??? "FREYR"??? "UKKO"???
Pure genius... but then isn't that what we've come to expect from TWC/NBC/Universal?
