CNN has officially brought in the guy to replace Ashleigh. He started today.
No Jacqui Jeras and bringing in guys...who's in charge over there?

Judging by the dearth of caps for Ashleigh and/or Zoraida, CNN has :censor ed up once again.

Apparently 1) the FNG is enough of a douchebag that nobody wants to get up at 5am EST to even deal with Early Start anymore (no legs shots for Zoraida? Putting the TV on mute so you don't have to hear anybody's gumflapping?) and 2) Ashleigh has been confined to a desk like her predecessors (Kyra Phillips and Carol Costello).

Way to go, CNN. You can't provide honest news anymore, your male hosts are tools and douchebags, and you can't even provide the obligatory eye candy anymore.

:censor you, CNN...and all my previous comments STAND.

Back to Fox News...

Well, let's at least give credit to Bernie --
he capped some of Zoraida just this morning :

Doesn't that count?

Good...and if he's going to keep collecting paychecks 'til the end of the year, he can start handing out pinkslips and cancelling shows. Between the bio-domed Sunday shows and every anchor who has publically screwed up during the campaign season, there's a lot of deadwood to clean out. Let's not just spend our last six months playing solitaire and surfing for internet porn, Jimmy-boy!

Sooo...has CNN done anything lately to improve their image as an objective, unbiased cable news channel?

Hmmm...let's see...

Well, the best thing to do if you didn't want to miss anything would be to watch C Span. Seems to be a lot of complaints on that site about stations missing speeches. C Span didn't miss anything. They had it all.

You're welcome.

Now...become one with being absolutely neutral. Go back to simple basic journalism (who/what/where/when/why). When you do, go back and read the article from top to bottom.

CNN's ratings stink because they haven't done basic journalism in years. Not only are they taking a side (as opposed to "sittin' in the middle", which ALL TV journalism should aspire to), but they are doing a lousy job of it.

Are you suggesting that breitbart.com is doing "simple basic journalism"?

Name one "TV journalism" organization that has done unbiased basic journalism, since bias has no place in journalism, then please tell us one organization that has done a good job as opposed to a lousy job of taking sides. And it's not just TV journalism that should strive to be unbiased. Organizations in all media, including the internet, that call themselves journalists should strive for that.

None of them do that completely anymore.

The only part of any day that you find straightforward "reporting" is during the top or bottom of the hour
news breaks, where you're just told what's happening or has happened, and there's no spin on it whatsoever
-- and even that isn't 24/7. Most of that has gotten squeezed out by the talking head "experts" who
usually have a lefty or righty agenda to push.... mostly blather, very little in the way of substance.

Where I find fault with the so-called "news" networks, is how they hand off a topic to whoever their favorite spin-meisters
are under the guise of news.

Interchangeable example -- MSNBC or Fox:

"Well, that was the story -- so does this mean that (Romney/Obama) really meant __________
when he said "_________________"? --- Here's (insert partisan hack name here) to tell us what's really going on."

I'd dare them to try avoiding this practice for just one week, but I'd be afraid their heads would explode. :?

I agree with you completely, pacificRT. It's a shame that news has become that. I think maybe the PBS News Hour is the closest we have to straight news reporting. Ratings probably drive style and they don't seem to care much about it. NPR is still my goto domestic news source. I know they have bias but at least they go in depth. Then there is always the BBC. Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite are rightfully rolling over in their graves.

NPR and PBS News Hour. Riiight...we have to have government funded agencies doing journalism. Yeah, they're totally unbiased. Let me do some research and see how straight dowm the middle they are.

NPR doesn't employ and unbiased tallinkg heads? Two words...Mike. Malloy. Nuff said.

pacificRT does bring up a valid point. However, my point in posting that link is that it is bad thing for your news network to pretend that they are an honest source of journalism, when your anchors (go back and read the post, no need to name them here) wear their partisanship on their sleeve.

braniac, I find it dubious that you would name PBS News Hour; if you read my post again, they are running a close second behind CNN in the fake journalist race depicted in the post.

Pot, meet kettle.

Pretend that your conversation level rises above "snark". Pray show us some research, and maybe evidence to the contrary.

From a "neutral" source, perhaps?

LJS, first, I did say that NPR has bias, but I also said that I get that and in case you didn't get it, I can filter that out to get at the real news story. :snoopy Second, I read your post, but it said nothing about PBS. Are you referring to breitbart.com's biased comments about PBS? Are you expecting me to believe that breitbart.com is a font of truth, of unbiased journalism, and that their opinions about PBS are objective? :TickTock

I'm still waiting for you to name one "TV journalism" organization that has done unbiased basic journalism. By the way, can you name the one "news" network that was explicitly created with a political agenda? :Coyote
