I no likes da news coming out of CNN today... Jacqui had nothing to do with CNN's worst ratings in 20 years. Ashleigh and Zoraida just got started two months ago. CNN needs to do a Stygian Stables clean-up of their culture...'nuff said. |

To me, on average it seems CNN sheds more people over time than it adds. Going back to the first "massacre" a few years ago, when Miles O'Brien, Linda Stouffer, Judy Fortin, and a whole bunch of other off-air staff were let go... Then Kiran took off, and more cutbacks took place. Since then, how many new faces have you really seen show up? Yeah, they did a makeover in the mornings and brought in Ashley & Zoraida (that's looking iffy now--see the other thread about them), replaced King with Morgan, and swiped Erin from CNBC. But that's been basically it. Overall they just do more shuffling than the other networks do. Could be wrong about this, but the weather cutbacks might be related to the 2 new hirings just announced-- bringing John Berman from ABC to try boosting "Early Start", and then this item that was confirmed yesterday: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2 ... kend-show/ Giving Anthony Bourdain a new weekend food/travel show. Sounds almost like they're experimenting with the MSNBC thing-- random un-news-related filler to kill time on the weekend -- which might also be a moneysaving move. . |

Tonight on "Sunday night mysteries" we will discuss why Jacqui Jeras was let go... |

Jacqui was my only reason for checking in on CNN since Kiran left. Now I have none. CNN has been adding and removing anchors for two decades thinking it will solve it's ratings problem. Remember the definition of "insanity": doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. |

Well, I missed the old days, roughly pre-2001. They used to have a good travel show, a good environmental show, and a good music/entertainment show on regular CNN. I missed those days. Now it's just a rehash of the same boring news all day long even on the weekend. |

Jacqui isn't even on the bio pages anymore. They dumped her page faster than you can say...whatever it is that people say |

Meteorologist Jacqui Jeras, who was dropped by CNN in late May after nearly 13 years with the network, starts Sept. 5 as the new morning and noon weather guesser at WJLA-7-ABC in DC (Market #8). She replaces Adam Caskey, who will remain at the station. "I can't wait to see snow again!” said Jeras. -- They stream the news live online so we can watch |

I never liked the idea of saying she was fired because it feels more like she was laid off. CNN is losing in the ratings so you axe 2 weather people and think that would solve everything - Makes no sense. |

CNN could fire their whole staff and bring new ones in and it wouldn't increase ratings the only thing thing that would increase their ratings is if they would stop their bias and propaganda reporting. |

Very true.....it's as if they thought they needed to cut out the good original programming to make room for the post-9/11 news and almost 12 years later they haven't changed course. One of the shows I miss watching was Newsnight With Aaron Brown.....always finished up my day after watching the news roundup. |

Yup.....and I wouldn't put it past them to dump Erin Burnett thinking she's the problem at 7 and turn the show over to that John Avlon guy. |
