I know there's a thread about it in the alerts section, but I thought it deserved its own thread here

Well, it seems like at least ABC is really trying to get people's attention and make a ratings push.

Your move NBC.... time to wake up

It's the end of an era on Saturdays.
Not too many fun caps left to savor during the weekends, maybe outside of Ginger Zee at GMA.

First, it was Julie Banderas at Fox News when she had her maternity leave and a few other ladies before Amy burst onto the scene after a few interesting years on cable.

I bet GMA will have some fun if they poke around being separated at birth: Amy Robach paired up with Ginger Zee :P .

In all seriousness, hope things work out for her.

From the looks of the article, it appears she'll be doing pretty much what she was doing at NBC, minus the Saturday show. Yeah, we'll probably never see her legs again, lol.

Here's the clip of Amy's goodbye segment from this morning:

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/#47486491

Has it been made clear yet if Amy leaving now at the end of her NBC contract is their idea due to them not renewing it,
or because of a move she's making of her own will?

I'm just going to guess that she and whoever her agent is decided to do this, possibly because of several things--
Today's recent decline, coupled with Savannah's rise in the last year.

This might (MIGHT) be an indicator of Ann's fate... If Amy senses that Ann's not going to last past this year as host,
and that Savannah stands a good chance of taking over, that would only leave Amy getting passed over again, just as when
Meredith left. She probably sees some writing on the wall at NBC that not all of us are privy to ;)

LMAO, Cobra's comment makes the most sense to me. I don't think Ann will last the year either. I was thinking something would happen before the Summer Games. Yup, Today's decline is about right. Effective May 29th, I'm a GMA viewer, lol.

Gambit, I surely hope you or someone can cap Ginger Zee on the weekends and occasionally Paula Faris.

They are just as hot as Amy was on the eyes ;) , IMHO.

NBC productions doesn't have a clue what to do after Lauer. Agreed with Gambit, GMA is far superior product right now. Ann Curry is a leg/hose goddess to me, but she's not up for this job. She comes across as totally fake. And I think in their heart-of-hearts she and NatMo hate each other. If Savannah could ever learn to cross her legs without looking like she's fourteen, it could be her gig.

It sould have been Amy spot in the frist place. Not Ann's... Amy's been there too long and had strong fan base not for NBC to know that. That shows how out of touch NBC is between that and give away today show and conspondens titles to any one with well known last name, Or to peolpe who are friends with the higher ups or on air tilent.
