I'm not so sure I'd say they got rid of her cause of her age. Martha is three years older than Alisyn and she was just last year signed to a new multi-year deal.

Yeah I remember the first time I looked up Martha's age it surprised me. I didn't know she was that close to fifty...she sure as hell doesn't look it. Roger mos' def' has put some women out to pasture so to speak as they get older but it seems only with some he does that and others not so much. I thought that was one reason why he got rid of Donna Fiducia but I suppose it could've been other stuff as well.

Anyhow i've been following Alisyn on twitter for awhile but maybe was not when all this hiring with Elizabeth went down because I don't remember what she might have said on twitter about it.

Who on here was that that said something in reference to it because i'd be curious and I missed it.

Yeah I remember somebody posting her comments here I just don't remember exactly what they were. I think it was on one of the Elisabeth to Fox announcement threads. I can try and look for it.

Oh without question she is an exception to "his" rule, and a fine exception at that. Frankly I'm surprised she and Gretchen headline anything on FOX with so many younger hot blondes in his stable. Of course he's not going to skew too far away from any of his demographics. Martha and Gretchen appeal to a portion of his viewership. But I was just speculating...hell unless we're an agent or in human resources we don't know the reason for anyone's departure from any network. Yeah...I betcha Martha and Gretchen breathed a collective sigh of relief when Alisyn got her pink slip though. :jetserl

He needs to stop effing Julie B. over and put her back in a hosting spot. WTF is wrong with FOX?!?

I have no idea either what fox is doing on some stuff and yeah I wish Julie B. was all the way back too. She was my fave before she left to start having babies.

Yeah it's funny how Julie seems to have been demoted for getting pregnant and having kids. Where as Megyn Kelly seems to have a new kid ever year and gets promoted.

Yeah...it has been said that the people in charge there said the women can have children and come back to their jobs no problem but....it doesn't really seem to have worked that way.

We can never prove it but there have been some that sorta oddly disappeared soon after returning even if they did come back.

Linda Vester went away to have a kid and came back and soon after even though she had her own show it and she was gone.

Brigitte Quinn was on and was super popular but she started leaving and having kids and about the third time she did when she came back soon after was gone.

Julie left to have kids and seemingly disappeared until recently so they say it doesn't matter but its not true and you're right...I think the only one who's done it and not been affected I can think of is Megyn. She has her own friggin' show!!

I think the reason Linda Vester didn't return was because she has a rich husband (he ran AIG until it went down) and didn't have to work again. Same for Jane Skinner, who is now the First Lady of Football. The reason PAB gave for leaving Fox & Friends First and going back to fill-in roles was to spend more time with her son. Her son was born premature, and one of Alisyn's kids was also born premature.

Don't anybody else see the common denominator of all these women we're calling of? Seniority is not a good thing in the world of television media, at least cable news. yoda knows I like Diane Sawyer but I wouldn't mind if Aditi Roy, Rebecca Jarvis, Linzie Janis, etc took the reins. Fox isn't going to have them older women all in front of the camera. I know somebody else beside me remembers the FAMILY GUY episode when Lois went to work for FOX. How the got rid of the older lady anchor when HD showed how old she really looked? All those women were hot in "their day."

Ask Denver fans don't they want a younger secondary...my bad, that's hitting below the belt.

They just hinted in the preview for 1pm that her last show is today.

What we learned is that she left, wasn't fired for her age, or at least that's how they made it because Bill said he was trying to convince her to stay.

What I find interesting, it was "announced" she was leaving on 03/10 and she's gone on 03/14 that is what I call a "hard" almost demanding termination. Which could have come from either side. I guess once it's decided no sense to hang around.

Guys, This was Alisyn's decision to leave Fox. She wants to see what else life has out there. She is taking a jump into the great wide open without a plan but to open her wings and see where the air currents take her.

It was her twin girls that were premies, but only by a little bit and it has not effected them.
