I would guess the fact that Disney owns ABC was a reason they got pulled.
A better question is why then were they allowed to do the show together on Friday as if nothing happened?
Either that was the right decision or this was.
Both can’t be true.

Small update:

The on-air woman kept mentioning the familiar "Now from Times Square, T.J. Holmes with Amy Robach and Doctor Jen Ashton and What You Need To Know."

All Stephanie mentioned simply that was both T.J. and Amy "had the day off."

Really? There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

After going through an extremely difficult morning with the sudden demise of HLN, please keep us in touch so what might happening for the next 23 plus hours.

Special episode of Broken News that talks more about this affair and that both Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are off the air. The big question is for how long, with the "brand" that GMA is possibly going to take a major hit ratings wise (and that translated to more revenue).

Some more details:

The decision to remove them is the best decision for the GMA "brand". The viewers have to be able to believe the people they are watching, or they won't watch them for however long both TJ and Amy would be off the air.

Speaking as a loyal viewer since this pandemic began, they do have fun on the air and are serious when the stories dictate (this last political election cycle when they were sent to Phoenix, Arizona for example.)

No question about it, regardless how long the fallout is that their reputation (to a certain extent) and their resumes will take a major hit.

Here's a nugget from the over 600 plus comments on the Page Six website by Ron Star:

"I worked at ABC for 38 years. About ten years ago the entire staff had to undergo "sexual harrassment training". In that training, it was made very clear that if you wished to work at ABC and have a relationship with a fellow worker, you were required to go to HR and sign a "love contract", wherein you held the company blameless for any problems that arose from having an intimate relationship with somebody you work for. Guess that doesn't apply to famous rich types."

I have no inside information, but it appears that T.J. and Amy are suspended for the entire week.

In the first 3 days of Demarco being on the air, he's been good.

But IMHO--he does not and I repeat does not look anything like TJ Holmes. Judging by the one pic, he looks a bit shorter and the face is a bit rounder in shape (almost like Charlie Brown of Peanuts fame.)

Just my two virtual cents.

All that is left is to figure out about Amy's fate.

I gotta say it, this is a huge overreaction by ABC to the Robach-Holmes relationship. They are consenting adults. At ABC they are peers not one reporting to the other. ABC News President Kim Goodwin said they didn't break any company rules. They have great on-air chemistry and have ever since T.J. joined the show. Whether or not one or the other cheated on their spouse is not ABC's business AT ALL. Ratings, now that IS ABC's business, so let the viewers decide whether to watch or not. If the ratings tank when (if?) they return, make changes that may involve firing one or the other.

The writer of this article said it perfectly "ABC offers a masterclass in how not to handle workplace romance."

I sort of see ABC's point, or more accurately, Disney's.
if your company's supposed to be about wholesome family entertainment, it's not a great look to have 2 hosts (of a show that let's face it, very few people are watching anyway so how much trouble is this all worth?) who are proven multiple-time cheaters and have broken up families with said cheating.

that's probably not the family-friendly message Disney wants to publicly promote and by having them on together you're essentially condoning that, as ABC did the first day after the story broke.

no way these two are ever co-anchoring together again, I'd guess ABC is trying to figure out a way to fire or reassign at least one of them without being sued.

and there has to be a morals clause in their contracts that says something about not embarrassing the company publicly, which this certainly does.

I don't know if anybody caught this on Friday, but DailyMail.com reported exclusively that Robin Roberts has been "furious" throughout this entire scandal.

Please note that there are some very sensitive remarks in the article--so read the middle part of the article very carefully.

The one quote that got me was of the brass on top, and not just with Bob Iger and the corporate heads from Disney:

'Kim Godwin [President of News] is hopeless. She's just busy making sure her best interests are covered and doesn't seem to be able to come to any decision at all. She's totally unavailable and mostly hiding in her office.'

Makes me wonder... :? :? :?
