Neither Kiran nor her agent tried to get Gretchen fired. I was personally in contact with Kiran at the time that it was going on and I know what her agent asked for in the contract. It was simply a window in the contract after 2yrs (of a 3yr contract) IF Kiran was not the host of F&F she could talk to other channels. That is not asking for Gretchen to be fired!
FNC's PR smeared Kiran by saying she wanted Gretchen fired after Kiran left FNC and started working at CNN. The NYTimes is still running with that old story.

Keep in mind people. Kiran is DEFENDING Alies. I doubt it she would have done it if she was still bitter at Fox News. I believe it was the FNC's PR attacked her because she went to CNN. Regradless what happened, she is defending Alies.
Thanks for the clarification guys.
I don't think Kiran ever really wanted to leave Fox. But she was at the height of her popularity around that time.
CNN signed Chetry
within an hour of her release from the Fox News Channel. On February 16, 2007, Chetry began work as a CNN anchor and correspondent. That very day she served as a co-host on American Morning in the morning, and anchored Anderson Cooper 360 that evening. She went on to substitute as an anchor for Paula Zahn Now and CNN Newsroom.
On April 4, 2007, CNN's President Jonathan Klein officially announced Chetry as the new co-anchor: "one look at her tells you why she deserves the spot," Klein said. "She's a terrific anchor who lights up the screen." Her first American Morning broadcast was on April 16, 2007.
Fox has more than a passing reputation for bashing every other news channel out there whenever possible. So it doesn't surprise me that they went after Kiran.
Kiran's latest FB post:
Interesting that politico didn't bother to call me for a comment but wrote I had "a contentious relationship w Gretchen" Not so, we were always cordial when we crossed paths and I never demanded her firing. How inane? I anchored the 6AM FNF and she anchored the 7-9AM. We barely had time to say hello bc we were both so busy turning around the mics etc in the commercial break between the two shows.
She was always polite to me and same on my end. This is again the danger of pitting "women against women" in the workplace. And by defending my former boss, it doesn't mean I'm knocking her. I told my OWN story of my time at FNC. Anyone who won't go on the record about their own should stop the whisper campaigns and say what they have to say.https://www.facebook.com/thekiranchetry ... 8341714281
