With Patti Reilly's departure, as well as other hosts, I got to thinking: why has Lisa not left to pursue her own clothing/jewelry line?

but, she seems to have the run of the place, gets to travel every year on the company dime, and seems to really enjoy what she does. There's something to be said for 'a bird in the hand' - she's got seniority and ain't afraid to use it - no overnights for her, mostly prime-time, top flight guests, etc.....

I wrote to her 2 yrs ago asking that very question and she said she LOVES what shes doing. When I mentioned her possibly being a hostess on a TV show, she said that wasnt what she wanted to do....at least for now........

Im sure shes well compensated at QVC..............

Probably because she's seen other host's' think that they're bigger than QVC,and find out that they're aren't.I can see Lisa in a few years leaving QVC and being on shows where they give advice about things but not launching her own line or being a host of a show.The only whey i can see Lisa starting her line or having a show is if it be a joint venture with QVC and her still be at least a part-time host.

if you were making a nice six figure salary,got paid vacations to italy every year ,other beneifits we may not know about like retirement plans and heath plans,would you leave if you didnt have to?plus she isnt 23,she's 43,if she left to try something else she would be taking a huge risk.look at all the other people who thought they were celebreties and bigger than QVC,they all but crashed and burned.

True, when you think about it, how many former shopping channel hosts have become national TV stars? I can only think of the host of "Dirty Jobs". Everyon thought Kathy Levine was going to have a big career post QVC - didn't happen

And Mike Rowe didn't have that much exposure when he was on QVC,was kept on overnights.

Don't give her any ideas, man.

When was he on QVC? He's great on dirty jobs, and as the narrator of "the deadliest catch". Funny dude.

In the early 90's.He got fired.

From Wiki: Asked about his time there, Mike said, "I was fired three times by them, actually. I was in the opera at the time. I walked across the street with a buddy of mine (during a performance) - we're dressed as Vikings and we have a drink. The TV is turned to QVC. ... My buddy bets me $100 I can't get a call back. So ... I crashed the audition and got a job on the spot. I basically turned the whole thing into my own stupid David Letterman show - I made fun of the callers and made fun of the products."
