She didn't "announce" it per se, she asked for "opinions" from her "friends" - in other words she's like all other Women in that they are extremely insecure (regardless of their beauty & accomplishments). Furthermore, she (like all other Women) already made the decision to hack & chop the hair and would've continued with the haircut regardless of what anyone said (especially her husband). Women do lots of drastic & foolish things like this and they do them for many reasons. Destroying their beautiful hair is simply one of the most favorite and convenient targets. Ever come home and find your wife with her hair dyed a different color and chopped shorter than your's??? I have and it's because something is going on - not because "she and her hair stylist thought it would look cute".

Everyone will tell Jacque how great it looks, but........... Although she doesn't look terrible, it doesn't look nearly as good as it did previously.

Jacque has posted on her twitter that she is going to get her hair cut, maybe 3 or 4 inches and will debut the new look in the next couple of days

Jacque is an on-air personality and the air that she is on is a visual medium. We, all of us, people in general, have decided that appearance is important. When someone who is watched and enjoyed by thousands, maybe millions of people, is going to change her appearance, I think it is okay if she takes a minute or two of that air time to say "Oh by the way, I'm going to change my hair and make it a little shorter." As for how important Jacque is, let me put it this way, if all the people on earth were lined up in order of importance, Jacque would be considerably closer to the front of the line than most of us, maybe all of us.

Hey Jay Z, On a lighter note, I have a little story to tell. I was engaged once and one day my fiance tells me that she is going to get her hair cut, not just cut but styled into a kind of a boy's (man's) style. I said, "Really, can we talk about it a little before you do it?" She said, "No. It's my head and I will do what I want with it." So, I kept my mouth shut for a day or two and then told her that I was going to shave my head. She emphatically said, "No you are not!" To which I responded, "Why? It's my head." Well, that led to a slight disagreement. Slight in the way that World War II was a slight battle. We never did get married. A discerning person would realize that relationship was doomed before she decided to change her hair. Just wanted to let you know that I have emphathy with your situation.

It's a complicated and complex issue that requires one to study the entire psychological issue that is "Woman".
