HP used to be good, but then the stupid woman that was running it decided to buy Compaq and HP's quality dropped to Compaq pi$$ poor quality.
HP still has good printers but their computers suck now. |

| good info guys.....slowpoke & malone, some questions: 1) how easy is it to edit shows you record? taking out commercials and burning to a dvd? 2) can you combine parts of shows into one show....like say getting 2 minutes from one and 5 minutes each from 4 shows and combining them into one show?... |

Like I said, I can only go by my experience. I have bought 2 maxtors in last 6 months and they have been fine.
But if someone doesn't like maxtor then western digital is a good brand too. |

| James, do you know if you have a mom & pop type independent computer shop nearby? Just ask around and make sure they have good customer feedback. They probably can set you up with a custom job and provide tech support for near the same price and better service. If you buy a name brand like Dell ... |

| I usually just put them back on a spindle. if it is something I want to make sure is kept good I will put it in a sleeve. usually can pick up a box of 50 double sided sleeves for under $9.
