I think I'm saying more about myself than her when I say that when the ring went on her finger last month, I lost nearly all interest in her. She still has the same infectious personality, the same professionalism when it comes to the weather, and the same rockin bod, but she belongs to someone else now, instead of belonging to all of us. Which is to say she is not someone's property, she is just....not ours anymore.
I do wish her and her future husband all the best, but when the ring went on, it didn't matter to me anymore whether she was on TV or not. It just meant that it was time to find a new TV girlfriend. I think this says more about me than anything. I'm fricken damaged.
Its not as if I felt that a common person like myself had any chance at all. Its more like I am not going to lust after someone else's wife or future wife. I felt the same way when the ring went on Lynn Berry's finger too. Or Anna Kooiman or any of the others.
One hand I understand because I'm sure if the person is single we all think we have a chance even if the chance are slim but there's some ladies that are popular that are married and most of us don't care.
