Jen Carfagno, to host movies? (D)

Found this article yesterday:

It basically says TWC will begin showing movies on Friday nights (the first one will be "The Perfect Storm" on Oct 30). What surprised me the most was this part:

"Meteorologist Jennifer Carfagno will host movie night and offer commentary."

I would of expected anyone but her to do that.

Good choice to offer commentary, but I often wonder...

is TWC starting to copy a bit off of what MTV has been doing since the mid-1990's--getting away from its' core programming and doing other things instead?

That is because they're owned by NBC...that would be why things have been so wrong over there.

This idea just plain sucks! I can see running documentary type flicks like "Penguins" but the other pictures mentioned already play dozens of times a month on other channels. Sadly a lot of specialty networks have been taking this cop-out route of airing re-tread movies lately - TVLAND & Travel Channel to name 2. I suppose we can soon expect 'Happy Gilmore' and 'Tin Cup' on the Golf Channel and 'Julie & Julia' on Food Network :Joker

I agree that more of Ms Carfagno can't be bad!
Having said that, although it upsets me to see TWC slipping away bit by bit, it certainly doesn't surprise me to see them changing their format. Obviously NBC management had no clue as to what they were getting into when they bought TWC. It is also very obvious that they have no idea how to manage a network in such a format.
Their expertise (or more correctly stated their lack of expertise) will slowly but surely lead to the demise of TWC both as a viable entity and more importantly as a source of information that people need.
The NBC track record of the past few years is abysmal and pathetic. The once proud peacock has been reduced to an ugly chick that is no longer proud nor attractive.

NBC fails at everything they do now, Everybody remembers NBC at it glory when brandon tartikoff(may he rest in peace) was in charge.
