SEASON 12 TRAILER SIGN!

Titled Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Gauntlet, Kinga finally embraces the Netflix format and forces Jonah and the bots to watch six movies in a row in one sitting...

MAC AND ME
ATLANTIC RIM
LORDS OF THE DEEP
THE DAY TIME ENDED
KILLER FISH
ATOR, THE FIGHTING EAGLE

The crew tackles the legendarily crappy E.T. ripoff, a flick from mockbuster studio The Asylum, and if you have a keen eye, you'll see we have even more miles O'Keefe on our plates this Thanksgiving. C'mon, you know the Lions aren't going to do much on the 22nd!

There will be another tour starting up in September, The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour!
The two movies being riffed will be No Retreat, No Surrender and Circus of Horrors.

https://mst3klive.com

Dates will continue to be added to the schedule. It would be a good idea to go to this one, as Joel will be doing the riffing by himself, and he said that this will be his last live tour appearances. Say it ain't so, Joel!

Good news, we officially have a new Turkey Day this year!

http://mst3kturkeyday.com (I'm sure it'll be live soon)

Bad news, still no news on season 13. Or maybe it'll be a holiday surprise...?

Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of MST3K's national premiere on the Comedy Channel (now Comedy Central). With that and the upcoming turkey day marathon, it's probably no coincidence that they will formally launch their official Twitch channel tomorrow.

https://www.twitch.tv/mst3k

Both episodes and shorts will be streaming, along with occasional episodes of Cinematic Titanic and The Film Crew (a short lived spinoff with Mike, Kevin and Bill, basically an embryonic Rifftrax). Now you have MST3K viewing options beyond Netflix, YouTube, Pluto TV, Tubi, your DVD collection, and *ahem* digital copies shared by *cough* peers for those other dozen episodes.

The good news, the Turkey Day Marathon starts tomorrow! Hosted by Crow and Servo! (And their respective voices from the current tour.)

The bad news, Joel recently announced that Netflix will not be picking up the show for season 13.
However, Joel does remain optimistic that the revival will find a new home somewhere, and the show isn't leaving Netflix anytime soon. Plus we still have all the previously mentioned outlets running the original show, so the riffing never really left us, has it?

FYI, it appears that IFC has recently added MST3K to their schedule late at night. Yet another solution for your riffing jones!

Just a small personal update... if you ever get a chance to see MST3K Live, do it! I saw the Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour last week, and it was amazing! Seeing Joel in person and watching he and the bots riff in person was incredible! And you'd better act fast, it's Joel's last tour!

https://mst3klive.com

If your venue has a VIP package offer and you can afford it, it's worth it just to shake Joel's hand. :shades

Looks like we have another channel to add for your MST3K fix, as it now can be found on Z Living, a network that focuses on healthy living, cooking shows... and old TV shows. Odd combination if you ask me, but any additional sources for the wisecracking trio are good ones!

https://www.zliving.com
The bare bones website, apparently under construction since 2018. No mention of MST3K.

You might be wondering if there's going to be a turkey day this year. Of course there is!

The official video announcement on YouTube, featuring Emily, Tom, Crow, and (as rebranded during the spring tour) GPC. There's so many options, you'd have to try really hard to find a way not to stream it!

I guess I'm a day or two late in posting this here, but that's okay, because I can confidently tell you that there will be more MST3K!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ms ... emoremst3k

Joel started another Kickstarter to bring to fruition his new concept, and the goal was met in roughly 24 hours. He got the idea that instead of shopping the show to yet another network, why not distribute the show themselves? Enter the Gizmoplex, a virtual online theater where not only new episodes will premiere, but it'll also host live events, plus you can create watch parties for you and your friends. In reaching their first goal, three new episodes will be produced along with the Gizmoplex, with higher tiers yielding more episodes. Those tiers will also result in dedicated smart phone/TV apps, more live shows, and the reintroduction of shorts.

We're on our way to #BuildTheGizmoplex and #MakeMoreMST3K!

(You can also use http://www.makemoremst3k.com/ to make it easier to remember the Kickstarter page.)

While the latest Kickstarter approaches its second half (currently at $3.1M, with a six episode season unlocked at $3.3M), The AV Club recently published an oral history of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of its theater release yesterday...

As long as I'm at it, here's the pitch video for the Kickstarter via YouTube...

Post subject:  Re: Mystery Science Theater 3000

An update... it looks like the Kickstarter has just reached its second threshold, meaning six new episodes will be produced, and MST3K apps for phones and smart TVs will also be created. Plus a long video update...

https://vimeo.com/540181366

...which announces that the show will have more than one host this season. Jonah will still be there, and Emily Marsh from the last MST3K live tour will also host some episodes, as it's Kinga's decision to no longer subject cheesy movies to solely one person. And get this, if they reach their next threshold of $4.4M for nine episodes, Joel will put the red jumpsuit on again and host an episode! This will increase to two if they reach their complete goal of $5.5M. And if you're wondering if that means Mike or other members of the old cast will also come back, Joel simply stated that open offers were given to all former cast members, and if it happens, it happens. Nonetheless, it's exciting news for longtime MSTies!

As always, for pledges and updates, keep circulating the URL!

A couple of livestreams of the crew watching old episodes have been held in order to drum up more pledges for the Kickstarter, and they'll be archived until the end of the drive, which has about a week left. The events so far...

Untamed Youth, with Joel, J. Elvis Weinstein (original Tom Servo), Baron Vaughn (Netflix Servo), Tim Ryder (early tour Servo), and Conor. Lots of deep voices!

The Time Bubble Tour is underway, season 13 production is now well underway, and the upcoming holiday means that yes, we will have another Turkey Day!

http://www.mst3kturkeyday.com/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3aCVxlSd5o

Hosted by Jonah, Emily, and the tour voices of Crow, Servo, and GPC2, they'll not only present eight episodes this year, but they'll also reveal the titles of the films in the upcoming 13th season! And remember, not only is Jonah hosting this season, but Emily will also be hosting a few episodes, and Joel is coming back for two more! You'll feel more stuffed than the Lions' defense!

Post subject:  Re: Mystery Science Theater 3000

There's still another episode to go in the marathon, but all 13 episodes from season 13 brought to you by Moon 13 have now been announced...

SANTO IN THE TREASURE OF DRACULA
ROBOT WARS
BEYOND ATLANTIS
MUNCHIE
DOCTOR MORDID
DEMON SQUAD
GAMERA VS. JIGER
THE BAT WOMAN
THE MILLION EYES OF SU-MURU
H.G. WELLS' THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME
THE MASK 3D
THE BUBBLE
THE CHRISTMAS DRAGON

The only one we really knew about was a new Gamera movie, but we also have another Santo movie, another Jack Palance paycheck, a revisit from a "season 0" episode, and no, it's not that The Mask, it's a black and white 3D movie (and the show's first dedicated Halloween episode). And to repeat, Jonah will be hosting the bulk of the episodes, Emily will host a few, and Joel comes back for two. But not only that, all three will host the Christmas episode!

For S13 they will eschew normal distribution processes and issue episodes themselves through the Gizmoplex, all for one reasonable fee...
http://www.mst3k.com/season13
This will also give you access to live events and the rights to own those S13 episodes, so it's not that bad when you break it down. Plus the page above gives you brief previews of each movie.

Can't wait to see how all this turns out. At the very least, some of these flicks look truly, truly awful.

EDIT: Season 13 will premiere on March 4, 2022. Mark your calendars!
