I know that 1920x1080 is HD resolution but why do the pictures I get on my tuner card come in as 1920x1088 when I go to change the file name? Is there a different resolution for 1080i and 1080p or something?

I remember it had something to with 16bit macroblocks with the encoder. 1088 is divisible by 16. I'm too lazy to search, but there is more info if you do quick search. Videohelp may be a good place to look.
