Post subject:  A Case of Mistaken Identity

I just posted under the Hispanic section about a Facebook video featuring Rosana Franco. To my surprise, I find that the post isn't under my username, but someone named "JohnKay". How is this possible? I logged out of that name, and when I tried to reenter, it came up with my normal user name. Is someone taking over my computer? Or was this just a fluke?

Hey, I've been getting logged into accounts that aren't mine and seems like others are able to post things using my account
Not sure what exactly is going on...

Might try contacting an admin. Seems like the only way that could happen is if your password got compromised. Try changing it.

After changing screens I received a message saying that my IP had been banned. I refreshed and now everything is fine. Is something happening with this too?

None of you are going crazy. It's happening to me too.

For some reason you're getting logged on as a completely random user at completely random times, and during that period that you are being logged in under someone elses username, you apparently also have full access to their account (as Nick! just demonstrated above).

I've yet to get a clear answer, but for now please keep a close eye on the top right of your screen to make sure that you are indeed logged in as yourself before posting anything. Until the admins figure this out, please be careful!

I've checked all the databases and the forum software is up to date.
We can try asking at the PHP BB forum if they know what might be causing this.

Post subject:  Re: Login Issues

Yep. Still happening again for me too.

In fact my username switched to someone else who I noticed was also signed in. I'm not accusing this person of anything, but I'm just finding it interesting/coincidental that each time my username has temporarily switched, the user it switched to was also signed in at the same time.

Not sure if that means anything but just wanted to add that info in case it helps the admins figure this out.

If all the databases and software are up to date, why cant we post a sig pic yet?? And curiously, what version of IE are people using that are having the problem? I am using 11 and never had an issue as of yet. :?

I've been checking out different areas of the forum, logging out and back in and so far my username is not changing.
Anyone else still having the problem of your username changing?

Occasionally, yes. Not as frequently as before.

Just now I got blocked from performing moderator actions because my username switched while I was removing spam. It kicked me out and I had to log back in. :?
