So,
Who's found a browser extension that works now?
I had http://www.flashvideodownloader.org/ on Firefox working, but it stopped.
I tried the same extension on Chrome -- same results

This change they made (or I assume they made) happened within the last two weeks

I've been using IDM (Internet Download Manager) for years. IMO it is the greatest thing since sliced bread so to speak. It picks up 90% of all the video on most websites. It displays a great little download window that when you click it even gives you a dropdown with all the possible resolutions available from which you can choose. It works great with youtube for that reason.

Works great with ATSS. This from today:

None of them will work now, AFAIK (even Jaksta chokes on it now).
BUT, there is an alternative (and it's free):
OK, so the problem is, the videos aren't 1 file anymore, but a bunch of files (f4f extension)
so, what you do is go here:

http://applian.com.s3.amazonaws.com/hds/1.html

and follow the instructions on this page in the post by KSV.

Read the php install instructions on the bottom if you don't know how to install php.
Also,

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -detector/

This is an addon that'll set up the command for you, you click the link, go to command prompt, paste it in & go.

I took Nicks advice and downloaded a trial version of IDM (Internet Download Manager) I used it for the first time a few days ago,and it's working like a charm. The only draw back is that it's not free. But if you have an extra $30 bucks to spare,I recommend purchasing it. I definitely will after the 30 day trial period is up.

yup, i've had IDM for over a year and it's been working great. They also update it regularly since changes from browsers and adobe flash etc affect it. It also speeds up other downloads if you use file lockers a lot.

Internet Download Manager has always worked with that video of Fox News' After The Show Show in downloading. Real good software. Also since last fall all the other videos on the site are downloadable but using another program I had issues. So only IDM works for me on Fox News' website.

I just took the dive and bought IDM and so far it's turned out to be a great piece of software. The only caveat for those who are interested is that (at least as far as I can tell) it doesn't record live streaming video......but anything else it will handle. I got it for $25 which is a good deal for all that the program does (cost includes 1 year of updates which is important as internet browsers are constantly updating).

Yeah IDM which I bought last year works well with Fox News videos and many other sites to download the video. But I have the Replay Video Capture to record and capture things that can't be done by IDM, which happens sometimes. Windows also comes with a free snipping tool to capture images only otherwise you can use free print screen software like Gadwin or PicPick. There are other programs one can try to capture video off a screen like CamStudio or ScreenHunter. Apowersoft and Applian make good pay software. For Free there is another software called TinyTake that claims to be able to extract both images and video.

The older 4.7 version of Gadwin is awesome for screenshots. It's my go-to program for caps.

I have to disagree with you on CamStudio for video capture. I've tried installing it twice in the past month and both times it installed additional programs without telling me. My anti-virus software also detected problems with the install. Apparently this is a problem for other users as well if you search their forums. For video capture, I prefer to use oCam.
