At about 6:00 this morning, my 27" JVC old-school tube breathed its last. I bought it many years ago in Iwakuni Japan, and have since carried it across the Pacific Ocean, from Yuma, Az to Rockford, IL...to Cherry Point, NC...to here in sunny Lexington Park, MD. Okay yes, I need to update my profile. Whatevs.

Anyhoo, it's time to break the bank and finally buy that LED flatscreen TV i've been putting off buying. Any suggestions as to what brand and model, and what store to buy it from?

(Mods, I just realized this should've been a Tech Issue Post. Ooops. Hopefully my opening comment qualifies as humorous, but if not...do what you gotta...thx!)

Sorry about old faithful dying on you. If you weren't asking for tech advise I would have left it where you posted it at. :Kool

Best Buy and Wal-Mart are 2 stores you could look at for TV's.

As for model, these are ones I own or have relatives that own them.
Toshiba- Own a 42" and 32" with mixed results. The 42" after the warranty expired got a pressure mark in the upper right hand corner. 32" good picture, lousy volume.
Samsung- good picture and volume
Sony- good picture and volume

I hear Phillips is also a great brand.
Wal-Mart and I know Costco has it, mostly at very reasonable prices compared to when the HDTV craze began in earnest during the mid-2000's.

I have a 46" Sharp Aquos LED. No problems on my part. You'll have to go to a store to view the various TVs.

I've had a 32" Vizio since 2008 with no problems. Samsung pretty good too.
