Without question, the Vegas Golden Knights' inaugural season was historic, to say the least. They won big in the expansion draft and as a result, they won the Pacific and had a 100-point season, and even made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. They fell three wins short of the Cup, leaving them with not much room for improvement. What we saw was a bit of a sophomore slump; Vegas didn't get off to the same hot start they did last year, but they still had a terrific season and are now 2-for-2 when it comes to playoff appearances. The San Jose Sharks are on a mission, getting Erik Karlsson during the offseason made them a juggernaut, as he was on a team that included Joe Pavelski, Scott Thornton, Evander Kane, and Brent Burns. The Sharks are three years removed from reaching the Final, and they are clearly showing that they want to return and win. This is a rematch from last year; the Knights ousted the Sharks in the Pacific Final during their magical run. In this go around, though, I think things will be just a bit different.
Prediction: Sharks in seven
Correction, Joe Thornton
