The Clarence S. Campbell Bowl could go to either the team playing it its first ever season, or the team who hadn't won a playoff game until this season. Though they lost a playoff game for the first time ever, the Vegas Golden Knights continued their road to history, as they defeated the San Jose Sharks in the Pacific Final, needing six games to do so. IMHO, the bigger story is the Winnipeg Jets, as they upset last year's Western Conference Champions (and current holders of the Presidents' Trophy), the Nashville Predators, in a seven game thriller--with the Jets winning three times in Nashville. Of course, with a Canadian team this close I have to bring in the usual fun facts. As we all know, 1993 was the last time a Canadian club won the Cup; Habs over Kings in five. 2011 was the last time a Canadian team reached the Final: the Canucks losing in seven. This is the second straight year and third in five seasons that a Canadian team is in the Final Four. Last year's Ottawa Senators were narrowly defeated in Game Seven of the East Final, losing in double OT to the Penguins. Despite the Knights winning their division, the Jets finished with a better point total than Vegas, giving Winnipeg home ice advantage. I see that playing a factor in this series, and it will lead to the Jets soaring to the Final.
