For some reason this is near the top of the drudge report:
https://www.foxnews.com/media/departing ... al-network

I get why Fox News would love to jump on this story because it’s anti-CNN but I’m not sure this is really news.

Most bosses are men, she claims.
Isn’t that true of most businesses?
In other news, water is wet.

Let's face it if Brooke wasn't pulled from the air in the fall, she still would be on CNN. Unsure how much that decision weighed on her leaving CNN. I hope we'll see her again some form some way.

Wasn’t that a sign that they didn’t really want her at CNN?

Surprising because wasn't Lemon one of Brooke's friends?

I read that writing her new book lead her to rethink her career and she decided to not renew and let contract expire.

Maybe she felt she needed more control/freedom.

Confirmed (years later):

everything she said when she “left” CNN was a lie.

They got rid of her

Guessing a reason why she didn't go to NBC (or any other network) though I'm sure she would have been able to pick her producer.

We hear it all the time about the typical "power plays" that male producers/CEO's have over many people (especially with women). In some cases, the carrot can dangle only for so long.

When Brooke talked about having someone at CNN dance at her wedding, that should have been classified as a happy moment. Perhaps I might be reading between the lines too much--but after thorough scanning of the key statements, this part got me the most:

"On my way out, the only CNN face I saw was a security guard’s. Masked, hands trembling, Anthony stood there clutching a shoebox. He’d bought me a pair of Air Jordans as a goodbye. I hugged him and wept.

No cheesy plaque. No Champagne. No send-off party.

Just quiet."

Basically, she was used as another line on a company's balance sheet. And the way we have been talking about CNN for how many years, their shows are simply unwatchable. The very same genre that was groundbreaking in the early to mid 1980's might suffer similar consequences to that of many small town newspapers--veteran people replaced by junior staffers or those straight out of college.

And that to me, is very sad.
But more power to Brooke--you got this!
With Netflix gaining more subscribers (on top of their announcement that they will no longer release quarterly subscriber updates), the sky's the limit.

The only question left then is, will people actually watch?
