Brooke Baldwin revealed on her Instagram that she substituted for Ellen Degeneres on her talk show for an episode. It'll actually air sometime today (3/12/21). https://www.instagram.com/p/CMTVWyArgPa/ So, is this what she's been dreaming of doing? Having her own show? Hasn't she learned from several other news personalities who have gone the "daytime talk show" route? For one reason or another that ride just doesn't last that long. |

O.K. I've seen the first 22 minutes of the show, and that was quite enough. Brooke looked like a fish out of water trying to be funny. And all the canned laughter didn't help much. Two words.....lightning crotch. |

The only two I can think of are Katie Couric and Mike and Juliet (though they started a similar type show on Fox News). |

It's not clear to me that her dream is to have her own show or to guest host Ellen or some other show. Maybe we're reading too much into this. |

All of this back and forth about news media women who tried and failed at their own talk shows, and we say Katie Couric, Mike & Juliet are exceptions. Meantime, Tamron heading for a third season over here asking - "Hey!!! What am I? Chopped liver????" . |

Good point, I didn’t even know she was still on but if she is making it to year three I guess that qualifies as a semi success. In general, I think news women are the worst choices for daytime talk shows, they are usually not funny and they’re usually reading things off a prompter, not speaking naturally and interacting with others unscripted. |
