It was announced today on ABC13's Living In The Heart of Virginia that a new co-host would be joining current host Emily Robinson. Her name is Ava Braatz, and she has spent the last several years working for Liberty University and their sports network. You may have seen her on the sidelines. Because she also served time as Sparky, the Flames mascot.

How many co-hosts has Emily went through? 3-4?

This makes the fourth co-host for Emily. I couldn't help but wonder what happened to the previous one, Monika Garland. Turns out, she's been a wedding videographer on the side all along, and she's turned it into a fairly successful business. Definitely less stressful than having to piece together human interest stories for a 5 day a week program. But lets not forget the other former cohosts. Emily's original cohost was Lisa Fenderson who is now a producer for PBS. Brittany Minard is a morning DJ for Spirit FM. The original host of the program was Tab O'Neal, who spent time as GMA's morning weatherman, and is now retired.

I'm surprised Monika did leave especially during these times when not many weddings going on (though my cousin did get married in the summer).

I thought it may have had something to do with her being from Canada. Unless she's currently married and has duel citizenship.

It doesn’t look like Emily is going anywhere
She seems pretty settled with hubby being a professor
Her LinkedIn says she’s been there almost 10 years

She is from Canada and yes she was married prior to her joining the show. Also, she did became an American citizen last year. Plus, I saw her IG Page and she said in a post she was returning to Liberty U for a position.

Correction: Monika joined the show a month PRIOR to her getting married. Also, she left just after her two year anniversray on the show.
