I absolutely agree 100 percent on those statements.

In this 500 plus channel universe, it is all about who has the biggest pocketbooks and advertisers--not about what it used to be when the people in front of the cameras mattered the most.

And since the former moniker of CNN Headline News switched to HLN going from 24 hours to just two shows weekday mornings, that isn't too good of a reason to write home about.

I brought this point up at the start of this thread--if HLN disappears in favor of having another golf channel, how would you feel about it?

In my case, with print magazines and newspapers going through a slow and painful decline--it would not shock me one bit if in fact HLN disappears except for the cool bits during the 1980's when the likes of Lynne Russell and Rudi Bahktiar were some of the key figures.

It happened in Chicago. From January 1, 1992 until December 1, 2019--ChicagoLand TV (or CLTV for short) was a 24 hour news channel, sister channel to WGN. Not only did they cover news faster than the regular networks, but they did live phone calls during sports themed shows, and for a few weeks at a time aired Chicago Cubs baseball games.

Enter NexStar Corporation of Dallas, and boom--the station is no more. At least, we have the memories on YouTube and a page dedicated on Wikipedia forevermore.

Mark it down and put it in the book, if it is time--Robin's time will come. At the very least, she can always do another country music album ;) .

Remember it happened once before and if Robin Meade went to NYC to do that morning show with Cuomo and Kate, CNN Atlanta would have been gone. Now it sounds like it's not going to matter if Robin stays in Atlanta or not, CNN is closing up shop in Atlanta in a few years.

It appears to be that way, definitely not a secret amongst most media observers. It is only a matter of time and who is willing to relocate.

Well I saw on a post on FB that they lose two hours of live programming because They moved up Lynn's show to 10 AM then Mike's to noon. That is not a good sign. Also, unsure how many of the HLN/CNN Atlanta would transfer to New York. Two of them (Christi and Susan) I think highly unlikely won't as both have young kids and Susan also has a company she owns. Christi has kids in school, would she uproot her family to New York? Plus she's been in Atlanta since 2003. Robin if she refused to move once, I doubt she'll reconsider moving. I think she's more than likely to either work for an Atlanta TV Station or host one of the local morning talk shows. Lynn, Shyann, and Elizabeth I'm unsure. All three have young kids unsure if they're school-aged or not.

You’re also assuming all those people would be ASKED to move.
I would bet some aren’t.

True, we don't know for sure.

I guess Meade doesn’t have the huge ratings or bring in the huge revenue that we’ve been led to believe:

She's the biggest star on HLN (I know not saying much but still). Wasn't she beating CNN at one point?
