Post subject:  News Anchors who completed in Miss America/Miss USA
There's has to be about a hundred or so who is/was a reporter/anchor and complete in Miss America/Miss USA. I know HLN had three for a time with Robin Meade, Christi Paul who actually completed to win the Miss Ohio title that Robin won the year prior, and Natasha Curry. There's Laura Rutledge and Gretchen Carlson. Also, Lauren Nelson and Mallory Hagan were Miss American winners and one-time news anchors. It's going to be a long list.

Lauren Green was Miss Minnesota I believe

Trish Regan was a Miss New Hampshire


Kaitlin Monte (Former WPIX Traffic) was a Miss New York

Jessica Boyington ( Philly Traffic ) Miss New Jersey 2006

Shannon Bream- Miss Virginia 1990 (Miss America 1991 pageant), Miss Florida USA 1995 placed 4th in the 1995 Miss USA pageant

Amy Robach complete in Miss Georgia (was 5th), unsure about Courtney Friel. I thought she did but not seeing any info anywhere. Also, some names to add Jen Hale (Miss LSU), Susan Barnett (ex-Philly Anchor), and one I will regret listing Sarah Palin who started as a sports reporter before going into politics. Heidi Watney was a runner-up in Miss California USA losing to get this someone who later married one of the co-workers on the MLB Network.

Before they became infotainment legends:
Nancy Humphries (O'Dell): Miss South Carolina 1988
Mary Harum (Hart): Miss South Dakota 1970
Maria Menounos: Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 1996

And since she never competed in either, Diane Sawyer was America's Junior Miss in 1963.

Probably should have said pageants instead, unsure if this count but Liana Brackett is Mrs. Georgia. Also, Allie LaForce was a Miss Teen in 2005 (also her mom was Miss Ohio 1977).

Katie George was a Miss Kentucky whose a reporter on FSN Wisconsin and soon to be on the ACC Network.

Tara Wheeler, Miss Virginia 2008. Also an Air Force veteran. She was the morning anchor at WFXR in Roanoke for a while before moving back to Charlottesville where she's an anchor at CBS19. http://twitter.com/CBS19_Tara
