Pure speculation, but she left in late September or early October. I'm thinking she may have been miffed about the lack of role she would play in the upcoming election night coverage. I noticed another relative newcomer to Fox, Trish Regan, played a pretty large role. Perhaps contract stuff prevents the removal of her name from the show banner for the time being. Anyway, the fact that Fox is hush hush tells me that she probably won't be back.

I have always watched Fox Business News, except when Deirdre was on at Bloomberg News. I always changed the channel to watch Deirdre. When she moved to Fox Business News, I was delighted.
But, remember ... Deirdre was the "it" girl at Bloomberg, and she came over to FBN to fill the same role. And boy, did she! She easily won her time slot versus all competitors, and FBN's ratings went through the roof.
However, think of the pressure. Deirdre was obviously under enormous pressure, and I consciously thought that, as the summer yielded to fall, last year, it began to show. She's naturally slender, but I believe she lost weight. And, her exuberance, which is one of the trademarks of her show, waned (I thought). Her "sign off," which was normally so joyous, became more and more muted, and it was not unusual to see her look down demurely at her laptop as the camera faded away. She had not done that before, but she was doing it now.
I detected changes, of that, I am certain. What was behind them? The legal chaos (Ailes)? The network's "support" of Trump? Weariness? The constant pressure of performing at "goddess" level? It is hard to say.
I think Fox Business News owes its viewers an explanation, and the only reasons I can think of that prevents Fox from doing so is the high probability that a non-disclosure agreement (as part of some legal settlement) is in place or that her contract mandates privacy in the event of an illness or other personal matter.
I have a hunch that Deirdre will be returning.
