Kelly Ripa will be seeking another new co-host again, as Michael Strahan has suddenly announced his departure to join "Good Morning America" full time. There was apparently no heads-up for Kelly or the producers ahead of the plan, which ABC/Disney is reported to be behind. No word on when it all takes effect, no reaction from Kelly, or if any tension between the hosts contributed to it. And Kelly has "called out sick" on the day after. Guaranteed she's pissed. No way to tell when she'll show back up -- next week? This was probably the plan all along. People seem to forget that Robin Roberts started out on ESPN doing sports just like Strahan did with Fox. I think they just wanted to let him use the show with Kelly Ripa as a transition for him to be brought into Good Morning America........ |

You bet Kelly's furious. Not only did she find out at the last moment (again, just like 5 years ago with Regis), but apparently she had "told you so" to ABC execs 2 years ago: Kelly Ripa’s Absence From ‘Live’ Points to Rancor at ABC I haven't noticed any signs of a discord between K and M lately — they've always had great chemistry together. Not that they would necessarily show any signs on air, right. Rob Gronkowski once said on the show, when asked about his post-NFL plans, "I'd like both of your jobs," or words very close to it. However, Gronk is under contract until 2020 or so... Besides, my hunch is they are going to mix it up once again and not go with another jock / clown type of guy. |

They need her more than she needs them. Still they shouldn't have blindsided her with Strahan's announcement. Gossip columnists are saying she feels insulted and embarrassed. However, she better be back on Tuesday or Wednesday. They could anyone to replace her including some sports ladies like Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, heck even some ESPN ladies (Bristol Conn. isn't too far). |

Speaking of Erin Andrews...she and "Pretty Little Liars's" Shay Mitchell will be subbing for Kelly temporarily (why not Sarah Michelle Gellar, even if she's trying to build her Foodstirs empire?). |

IF this incident with Strahan is indeed a second offense (the first being with Regis' exit), and If she is filthy rich enough to flip ABC the double bird and willing to be the hottest "stay-at-home" mom on the planet, I'm going to say she may have some leverage. Live with Regis/Kelly and Kathy Lee/Michael has been an ABC daytime staple for a few decades now. If Kelly walks out, what do they do? Audition two more hosts/hostesses? Fold up the show and expand Good Morning America or...God forbid..."The View' another hour to make up the timeslot? Oh, wait...Erin Andrews subbed in for Kelly for a bit. I guess there's the start of a Plan B after all... |

Reunite her with Faith Ford.  Back to reality... they'll probably go with someone like Ryan Seacrest or Joel McHale. If it has to be a man, I'd rather Craig Ferguson or Craig Kilborn. Or bring Letterman out of retirement. I know, that would take way too much $$$$$$$$$$$$.  What's Jon Stewart doing now? |
