After 11 years, she’s leaving as host of the syndicated version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Vieira opted not to renew her contract, which is in its final year, because she plans to launch her own YouTube channel to feature people’s life stories, a source close to Vieira told The Associated Press.

New Millionaire episodes will air through May and reruns featuring Vieira will be shown throughout the summer, an ABC spokesperson told Reuters. The new host will take over in the fall.

Not sure where you got that from, but it's not true.
Regis has already signed up to co-host a sports talk show for Fox Sports starting this summer:

And at 81, he's probably not up to doing that every day AND coming back to Millionaire.

Besides, they've already picked somebody to replace Meredith on Millionaire --
